Plywood
The plywood drawers we sell are made from 9 ply Baltic Birch to provide the durability and stiffness needed for kitchen or home use. Plywood is made from thin veneers of solid wood which are laid together with their grains running opposite directions to create an incredibly ridgid wood product.
We offer plywood drawer boxes built from Baltic Birch. It can be ordered finished or unfinished and we also offer FSC Certified Baltic Birch plywood drawer boxes.
Types of Joints
The type of joint you choose will affect the long term durability of your drawers. While everything we build is of the highest quality the dovetail joint is simply the strongest and most visually attractive drawer box joinery method available.
Dovetail Joint
The dovetail joint is a tried and true wood joinery technique which is as strong as it is beautiful. The sections of wood that need to be joined are cut to create interlacing “fingers” of wood which hold themselves together. In addition to an incredibly tight fit wood glues are used to provide the longest lasting, most durable, and visually stunning wood joint possible.
Dowel Joint
Dowel joints are a great option for budget conscious consumers as they are less costly than dovetail joints. They still provide great durability and longevity. Every dowel joint drawer box we manufacture is built to exacting standards and uses tightly fitted, glued dowels which hold the sections together tightly.
